Up in the hills above Estepona, is a lovely finca. Overlooking the distant sea with a magnificent view of Gibraltar and North Africa, and set high in the mountains, Finca Ventura offers the best in Costa del Sol living. Way above the bustle of the coast, there is absolute peace throughout. From the long and winding road, you enter into a courtyard and park in front of a lovely soft pink house. Upon entering the house, you are struck by the warmth and comfort of a real home. Off to the right is the open and fully equipped kitchen (including a microwave) with hanging baskets, Spanish pottery and decorative tiles. A separate utility room with a clothes washing machine and dryer, iron and board, provides plenty of room for extra storage. The dining table seating twelve separates the living and the kitchen area. The living room has comfortable furnishings, fireplace, Digital Satellite TV and VCR. This room is airy and comfortable in summer - no air conditioning needed here. Off from the living room is a small study with a huge collection of books in English and VCR tapes. It would be possible to stay right in the house for days and not be bored for a moment. On the other hand, you are drawn out of each room to the magnificent terrace overlooking the hills and the sea, and leading to a swimming pool with benches for sunning. There is a powder room on this level. There is also a guest annex on this floor with a kitchenette, sitting area, a double sofa bed room and a bedroom with a big single bed. The bathroom for this area leads through this bedroom. Down a spiral staircase, you arrive on the bedroom level. Each of the three rooms leads to the terrace. The master bedroom has a double bed, good bedside lighting, a dressing area and a full bath with shower and tub. Down the hall is a double bedroom and a twin bedded room sharing a complete bath. Estepona is only 3km away, with many shops and restaurants. It is a cross between the modern, busy, upscale areas of the Costa del Sol and the Old Spanish white towns. Nearby are many athletic activities including excellent golf courses, tennis courts, horseback riding, swimming, and sailing. Wonderful long walks can be taken in the hills surrounding the finca. A trip to Gibraltar is possible or over to Tangiers and Morocco by ferry; also easily accessible are the famous hilltowns of Gaucin and Ronda with their rich history, and the fabled Marbella and Puerto Banus with their exclusive shops and excellent restaurants. Nearby also are other smaller towns where a pleasant coffee or beer can be enjoyed or an inexpensive but very nice dinner. Sevilla is within 2½ hours and Malaga and Jerez de la Frontera within 1½ hours. |
