Casa Fernyan sits on a sunny, private hillside, with a view of the Mediterranean, Gibralter, and Morocco beyond. This comfortable, well-furnished house is surrounded by mature gardens. Its cool, comfortable interiors and lovely outdoor spaces offer a wonderful place to spend your days when not out touring the many attractions the area offers. There are fine walking trails just outside your door, and the area is a popular bird watching destination (on the migratory route from the Straits of Gibralter).

Visit the pretty white villages (so called because of the brilliant white stucco walls of the houses perched on hillsides) of Gaucin, Montejacque and Jimena de la Frontera. The famous beaches of Sotogrande and Estepona, can be reached in less than half an hour. A bit further afield is the incomparable beach at La Bolonia, where white sand stretches for miles. Explore the Pileta Caves and Ubrique (1.5 hrs), where leather products are made for Burberry. Also within reach are Gibralter (45 min), Malaga (1.5 hrs), Seville (2.5 hrs), and Ronda (1 hr). Casares, a quintessential white village, is located just 15 kilometers above the Costa del Sol. Be ready to climb when visiting the town, as its narrow streets weave around the central plaza with its small bars and fountain. The stunning view from the fortress at the top makes it well worth the climb.

Not quite within walking distance from central Casares, Casa Fernyan is reached by a rather hair-raising drive which gets easier with each encounter. The central gathering space is a cozy living room with a fireplace and doors opening onto the terrace. Several steps lead up to a nice-sized dining area and a spacious, very modern and well-equipped kitchen. There is also one bedroom on the ground floor, with a queen-sized bed and en suite bathroom with tub, shower and heated towel racks. The bedroom offers direct access to the terrace. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, each with two twin beds and en suite bathroom. Both have a pricate terrace with a view to the coast. Outside the house, overlooking the hills, is a lovely garden with a swimming pool and a terrace with BBQ.

Amenities include satellite TV, VCR (with a good selection of videos), stereo, laundry room with washing machine.
