Sotogrande is an exclusive resort and golf complex at the western end of the Costa del Sol. Once you pass through the security gate, you will find beautiful villas, a well-developed marina, a world-famous polo club, and beautiful beaches and views. You will also find local supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and facilities for tennis and horseback riding. Ferries and hydrofoils are easily accessible from the port of Algeciras for trips to Tangiers and the bustling markets called "souks." The "rastro" or flea market in Puerto Banus and the fabled town of Marbella are within half an hour's drive. Local color abounds in the small fishing villages along the coast; the white villages of Caseres, Ronda and Gaucin are about an hour away. Nearby Cadiz is a wonderful and historic city with beautiful, inexpensive leather products, and beyond that is Tarifa, where windsurfers flock for wind and body surfing. Six golf courses are within ten minutes' drive, among them the famous Valderrama, Sotogrande, and San Roque. The Mediterranean Sea, tennis courts and the marina, where boats can be chartered, are within walking distance. El Soto is located 750 meters from the beach and offers a spectacular sea view. The Rock of Gibraltar looms above the horizon and on a clear day, the coastline of Africa and the hazy mountains of Morocco can be seen. The house was totally renovated in 2000 and offers the finest in amenities, including air conditioning. The pool is located in a large, totally private and mature garden of some 1000 square yards. On the ground floor are two large living rooms. A formal living room has a fireplace and a more casual living room is equipped with satellite TV and stereo. A large kitchen is outfitted with microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a separate dining room and a covered patio for al fresco dining. There are five double bedrooms on this floor, each with its own en suite bathroom, and two single bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Some of the bedrooms face the sea, and all are equipped with telephone, TV, and Internet access. A spacious master bedroom is located on the second floor, with two queen-sized beds and an en suite bathroom with a luxurious tub. A private terrace (500 sq. yds.) offers a spectacular view.
