I am so pleased to introduce to you my enthusiastic and wonderfully
diverse staff! Most have lived in Europe, and among us we speak Italian, French,
Spanish, English, Russian and Bulgarian! We love to travel, explore, inspect villas
and collect information about the areas near our villas. With our firsthand knowledge,
we offer assistance not only in choosing a villa but also in planning the best
ways to enjoy your stay there. Welcome

graduated from Bryn Mawr College and earned a MS from University of Pennsylvania
in Biology. She has worked in the field of travel for the last 20 years and founded
Doorways, Ltd., in 1994. She loves to travel and paint. She speaks a little German,
French and Italian. |
ELLEN
SINOFF,
Italian Specialist and Staff Writer

Originally from Philadelphia, Ellen returned
to the area after living in Key West and Vermont. She studied literature, has
a Masters degree in library science, and has alternately worked as a children's
librarian and European travel specialist for the past twenty years. She loves
to travel and to write, and enjoys yoga and reading. She writes our newsletter
as well as our villa descriptions, and welcomes your questions, comments, and
ideas to improve them. | |

MUNICH,
French Program Manager and Italian Specialist

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Laura has lived
in Florence and studied in Avignon. She is fluent in Italian and French, and recently
completed a degree in Italian at Bryn Mawr College. Before coming to Doorways,
Laura had a career in publishing, working as a photo editor and graphic designer.
Laura is also a working musician. She sings jazz and plays piano. She also loves
film, cooking, and eating! Ask for Laura if you are interested in renting a villa
in France or Italy. |
MARTA STAPLES,
Spanish Program Manager and Italian Specialist

Marta lived in England while
her teenaged daughter attended theatre schoo and was raised in Central and South America. She has spent much of her life abroad and has also lived in Egypt and Bahrain.
Originally trained and licensed as a doula, Marta has assisted women in the U.S.
and England during labor and provided support for mother, infant, and family.
She speaks fluent Spanish as well as a bit of French and is working to expand
our Spanish program. Talk to Marta if you are interested in Spain or Italy. |

CORNWALL,
Italian Specialist

Roberta was born and raised in Abruzzo, Italy,
a region rich in natural beauty and history. She received a Master's degree in
Foreign Languages and Literature before moving to the U.S. in 2000. Roberta has
worked as a tutor in Italian, French, Spanish, and ESL, and has taught Italian
at several colleges in the Philadelphia area. Like everyone at Doorways, Roberta
loves to travel. She has traveled extensively in Europe, and of course, throughout
Italy, especially the Veneto region. Roberta enjoys kickboxing, movies (particularly
European films), music, and reading, from classic and contemporary Italian writers
to Harry Potter. |
SUZY
DAVIS,
Italian Sales Consultant (semi-retired)

Suzy is fluent in Spanish. She graduated from Manhattanville
College and lived in the Dominican Republic and in Guatemala before returning
to the US to work at Friends School Haverford for 23 years as a PE teacher and
then as Director of Development. Now she is semi-retired and substitutes
in our Spanish and Italian Programs and is a member of our Advisory Board. | |

Monica designs our website and newsletter and heads up our marketing/advertising committee. She has worked at Doorways for seven years, and has traveled to Italy, France and Spain. Monica is also our photo editor and welcomes your photos if you feel they better represent
your villa than ours do (we travel in the winter when the villas are not occupied,
so our garden and pool photos are sadly lacking). |
MEGGIE TZONEVA
Accounting Assistant

Born and raised in Bulgaria, Meggie received her
Bachelors' Degree from the Medical College of Sofia. She is fluent in Russian,
English, and, of course, Bulgarian. She also speaks some French. After coming
to the U.S. in 1998, Meggie worked as a French travel consultant, specializing
in Paris and the Loire Valley. She is interested in fashion and is the mother
of twins. Meggie takes care of our books, bank deposits, security deposits and
payroll. Talk to Meggie if you have any financial questions. |  |

Customer Service & Marketing

Susan
is originally from Long Island, NY. She recently graduated from Villanova University, with
a double major in communications and Italian. Susan spent last year studying at the Istituto
Italiano in Rome. She loves Italian culture and is very excited to be working
at Doorways.
