The Cannaregio sestiere of Central Venice is a lively district with a very authentic Venetian atmosphere. Attractions include the Church of San Giobbe, decorated with the works of Tuscan artists like Luca della Robbia, and the Ca' d'Oro, considered to be the most striking example of Venetian Gothic architecture. At the heart of Cannaregio is the Ghetto, where the entire Jewish population of Venice was required to live from sunset to sunrise for almost three hundred years. Explore one of the world's most unique cities on foot or by vaporetto (Venetian water bus). Visit the beach or the islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello, and San Michele.

You will feel like a native as you shop in open-air markets and dine in small local restaurants. The Lucia Apartment is located just a few meters from the Fondamenta di Cannaregio. Because there is a vaporetto stop just across the canal from the apartment, San Marco Square and all of the attractions of Venice are within easy reach. A ten-minute walk or ferry ride brings you to the train station, and within five minutes' walking distance are food shops, coffee bars, a post office, and a variety of restaurants. Delicious meals (dine-in or carry-out) can be found at Trattoria Marisa, just next to the apartment.

The Lucia Apartment has been newly restored, with a lovely terrace that is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The apartment is part of a gated property. Formerly the "barchesse" ("wing") of a Palazzo, the apartments share a common entrance as well as part of a communal garden.

This ground floor apartment has a living room with comfortable armchairs, TV, and two sofas, one of which can be converted into a sofa bed for an additional guest. The table in the dining area seats up to six. An efficient kitchen corner is outfitted with a small fridge, oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, and gas range.

The apartment has two bedrooms, both facing the garden. One has joinable twin beds (though is it best to leave them as twins since the room is small) and a bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has a divisible double bed and a bathroom with tub.

The apartment has a washing machine, ironing board and iron. There is central heat for cooler months, when Venice is misty and magical.
