Il Portico is an independent apartment in a 16th-century villa located in the countryside just eight miles from Padua (Padova), home of Europe's third oldest university. Villa Selvatico is less than thirty minutes from Venice and Vicenza, and less than an hour from Treviso and Verona. The famous ski resort,
Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the Dolomite Mountains, is 100 miles away. There are swimming
beaches along the Adriatic coast, at Jesolo and Sottomarina. You can drive to the ocean at Chioggia in half an hour to buy fresh fish. Nearby, lined with spectacular villas, is the Brenta Riviera, which can be explored by boat, by
car, on foot or by bicycle. Il Portico is an air-conditioned, ground-floor

restaurants, a grocery, a pharmacy, a post office, and a variety of other shops.
The bus to Padova stops in the village, and from Padova, there is a train to Venice
and the other major historical cities. If you prefer to drive, there are excellent
autostrade.
