Located in the heart of the Veneto countryside, Villa Jacopo is just 30 kilometers
from Venice and Padua. The best way to get to Venice is by train (40 min) from
the little station at Piombino Dese, just 7 kilometers away. Charming Veneto towns
like Cittadella, Bassano, Asolo, Castelfranco, Treviso, and Maser are within easy
reach, and the little village of Levada, home to a coffee bar, grocer, newsstand,
bakery, gas station, and hairdresser, is within walking distance (1500 yards)
of the villa. Follow a charming country lane just a mile further to Badoere, with
an excellent butcher, supermarket, florist, and antique dealer, as well as several
charming restaurants and trattoria. Facilities for horseback riding (1 km), golf
(15 km), and tennis (5 km) are nearby. Villa Jacopo is an exclusive, spacious
accommodation in a historic, authentic Venetian villa. This 16th-century Palladian
palace was built by one of the most powerful and noble families of Venice. A unique
guest quarters has been created in the fully independent left wing of the villa,
called a "barchessa." Villa Jacopo is elegant and sophisticated, yet at the same
time comfortable and inviting. Furnishings are mix of family treasures, period
paintings, and interesting art. Floors are mostly parquet, and bathrooms are decorated
with lovely hand-painted Vietri tiles. From the villa's ground floor entrance,
marble stairs lead to a landing. On the left is a matrimonial bedroom suite with
private bathroom (shower over tub) and its own sitting room with sofa, writing
desk, and armoire. On the other side of the landing is a dining room with table
for eight, a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, and a beautifully
furnished living room with open bar, satellite TV, stereo, and DVD player.
Upstairs are three additional bedrooms furnished with armoires, writing desks,
and armchairs. The first has a matrimonial bed and en suite bathroom (shower over
tub). The second has a matrimonial bed. A sitting room with satellite TV leads
to the third bedroom, with two twin beds. These two bedrooms share a bathroom
(shower over tub) which is located just off the sitting room. The villa
is centrally heated for cooler months and is entirely air-conditioned, with individual
controls in each bedroom. There is no washing machine, but laundry service is
available on site. Outside, there is a private flower garden with a swimming
pool and gazebo (dressing room, refrigerator, BBQ) for the exclusive use of guests.
The spacious grounds include an Italian garden in the front and an English garden
in back. The villa is surrounded by flower beds and woodlands, and includes a
chapel, a soccer field, and a fish pond that has clevely been created in the cavity
from which the stone to construct the villa was quarried.
One of Villa Jacopo's
most important attractions is the warm hospitality of its owners. They live in
a separate part of the villa and will provide expert advice on everything from
where to play golf or tennis to what and where to eat. They thoughtfully provide
fresh flowers in the living room and bedrooms for their guests enjoyment.
