| Umbria, the very center of Italy, is an area rich in agriculture, dotted with beautiful hilltop villages, each with its own unique character. Todi, centrally located in Umbria, is an ideal base for exploring southern Tuscany as well as all of Umbria. From here, it is a two-hour drive to Florence and a 90-minute drive to Rome. Destinations like Orvieto, Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Montalcino, Siena, and Pienza are all within easy daytrip distance. Casale Romito is an ideal accommodation for large groups of family or friends who are looking for privacy as well as wonderful communal spaces where the entire group can come together to relax or enjoy a meal. Built around a 13th-century tower that once guarded the valley against invaders, Casale Romito was originally designed for the use of the owner's extended family. The many rooms of this spacious country house blend together harmoniously into a common household with three large salons, two large country kitchens with fireplaces, three covered outdoor dining areas, and a large swimming pool. The surrounding grounds offer sweeping views of a scenic valley, which lies between the Umbrian hill towns of Todi and Orvieto. The house may be rented in its entirety, or for smaller groups, it may be rented without the garden level, which includes a living room, kitchen, and four bedrooms. One of these is a double room with queen-sized bed and en suite bath. There is also a twin bedroom with en suite bath. A second twin bedroom shares a bath with an adjacent single bedroom. The main floor of the farmhouse has two spacious living rooms, a game room, kitchen, laundry room with washer and dryer, and three bedrooms. Two are double rooms with queen-sized beds; one has an en suite bath. The other shares a bath with the third bedroom, which has twin beds. The top floor of the house is on two levels. On the lower part of this floor there is a living room and four bedrooms. A twin bedroom suitable for children shares a bath with a single bedroom, suitable for a child or nanny. A triple bedroom shares a bath with a queen bedroom. A small stairway leads to the uppermost level, with a living room, two queen bedrooms with en suite baths, an additional queen bedroom with a few steps up to a bathroom, and a single bedroom with circular stairs to a bathroom. No smoking is permitted at Casale Romito. |
