Spoleto is a jewel of a town in of Eastern Umbria, an area considered by many to be the most interesting part of Umbria. Famous for its summer arts and opera festival (Festival dei Due Mondi), Spoleto also has other cultural events year round. It has a well-preserved Roman wall and is a particularly graceful medieval hill town. It once was the independent Duchy of Spoleto that ruled the central part of Italy. Day trips possible to the other wonderful hill towns of Umbria or to the mountains to the east for superb hiking and magnificent views. Since Spoleto is on the main rail line from Rome to Ancona, access by rail is easy to Rome to the south and to Assisi and Perugia to the north. You can also explore Orvieto, Gubbio, Cortona and discover smaller hill towns for yourself. Spoleto has more than its share of fine restaurants to be savored. L'Ulivo is located just to the north of Spoleto in the countryside about 10 minutes from the center. Here you can find peace and quiet, yet you are convenient to the cultural center.

L'Ulivo offers five lovely apartments with a shared swimming pool set in the olive groves on a hill. The apartments have modern, tiled kitchens and bathrooms, beamed ceilings and comfortable furniture including color TV's. The owners, who speak a little English, will welcome you and introduce you to their olive oil!

Il Glicine (sleeps 4 + 2) ) is a second floor apartment in the main house. It has two bedrooms (one double, one twin), one bathroom (shower), kitchen, and living room with fireplace and sleep sofa. It is best for families, as one bedroom is accessed through the other, so there is not good privacy for two couples. This is a cute apartment under the eaves. View Availability for Il Glicine

I Lilla (sleeps 5 + 2) is a second floor apartment in the main house. It has a living room with sleep sofa and fireplace and kitchen (with oven), 2 bedrooms (one double, one triple) and two bathrooms with showers. There is a nice terrace for dining al fresco. View Availability for I Lilla
