This classic farmhouse is strategically located near Orvieto, famous for its magnificent cathedral. From here, all of Umbria and Southern Tuscany is within easy daytrip distance, including attractions like Viterbo, Todi, Perugia, Spoleto, and Assisi. On days when you do not wish to drive, you can take a train from Orvieto to Rome or Florence.

The overall feeling of the Colonnette house is a mixture of country elegance and modern furnishings, with a bent towards the hi-tech. The main living space is on the upper level, including a large, open-plan living room, a dining room with seating for 8-10, and a well-equipped kitchen. There are three matriomonial bedrooms, each with its own en suite bath; two of the bathrooms have a shower and one has a tub with hand-held shower.

On the lower level are two large bedrooms. Both are spacious and comfortable, but perhaps a bit less "restored" than the upstairs bedrooms. One of these bedrooms has a matrimonial bed (not divisible) and the other has twin beds than can be made up as a double upon request. These two bedrooms share a bath (with shower only). Because the quality of these bedrooms is not as high as the others, we don't recommend Colonnette for five couples or ten adults. It is, however, a wonderful house for four couples, or for one or two families with children.

The outdoor spaces at Colonnette are particularly appealing. Flowers abound, and the swimming pool is set in a spectacular position, with a covered patio providing a wonderful spot for outdoor dining.

The owners have thoughtfully supplied the house with telephone, fax machine, internet connection, stereo/CD player, washing machine, dishwasher, satellite TV, ceiling fans, and window screens.
