Villa Ferraia sits on a secluded mountaintop south of Siena and has been furnished to be tastefully simple, yet at the same time, luxurious. Each of the villa’s en-suite bedrooms has flat-screen TV and fine linens and towels, complemented by Florentine soaps and shampoos. 

Tour the grounds on foot or by bicycle, on horseback or in a 4-wheel drive motor vehicle. You can fish, hike, or garden, as you like, participating in the everyday life on this self-sustaining estate. Take a cooking class. Learn about the stars. Soak in one of the pools; each is a different temperature. Design a package and create your own journey with a week based on a specific passion, such as horseback riding, yoga or cooking. How you spend your time is up to you.

Breakfast is served in the timber-beamed dining room each morning or on one of the outdoor terraces, depending on the weather. Enjoy strong Italian coffee, fresh fruits and juices, yogurt, eggs and an assortment of fine breads. Vegetarian and other special dietary requests can be accommodated for all meals with advance notice. Dinner is a superb Tuscan culinary experience, with all the vegetables and meat being supplied from Villa Ferraia’s organic farm. One evening, the traditional wood-fired oven can be lit and the chef will prepare pizzas to be savored on a beautiful terrace with splendid views of the sun setting over the forest.

Air-conditioning units are available in the bedrooms, but you are not likely to need them; the villa has thick stone walls and there are also fans in all of the rooms. Villa Ferraia is insulated with cork from local forests and utilizes solar energy panels where possible. The owner requests that guests limit the use of the air-conditioning units, as the villa protects the environment and tries to limit carbon emissions where possible.

Villa Ferraia exudes tranquility and natural beauty. Enjoy fresh air, walking through the forest, toiling in the organic garden, assisting the chef or simply lazing around and listening to the sounds of nature.
