San Casciano dei Bagni is a charming medieval village conveniently located just twenty minutes from the A1 motorway connecting Rome and Florence. This beautiful region is still relatively undiscovered by tourists. The village is small and quaint but has fine restaurants and shops, as well as one of our favorite coffee bars in Italy! The adjacent five-star Hotel Terme de’ Medici, with its restaurants, bars, boutiques, and terraces with expansive views, is well worth a visit. The location, near the border of Umbria, is ideal for exploring the enchanting towns of southern Tuscany as well as Umbria and Lazio. Daytrips are possible to Perugia, Assisi, Siena, and Arezzo (1 hour), Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, and Orvieto are even closer (40 minutes). On days when you do not wish to drive, you can travel by rail from nearby Chiusi to Florence or Rome in an hour and a half. La Rustichella is a five minute drive from the spa and the village. Its location is completely private, set within a hundred acres of oak woodland and pastures, offering views of the countryside and of Mt. Cetona. It is surrounded by landscaped grounds, a 16 x 42 ft. heated swimming pool, and lovely gardens. La Rustichella has been restored and equipped with many modern conveniences, but still retains the charm of an ancient Tuscan farmhouse. The house has four bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom, and an additional guest bathroom is located on the ground floor.
