Cetona, located in southern Tuscany, is perhaps the quintessential
medieval hill town. Famous for its vineyards and old olive groves, Cetona is an
ideal base for visiting the many charming villages of southern Tuscany and central
Italy. Siena, Montalcino, Orvieto, and Assisi are just a short drive away, and
guests can travel by rail to Florence in about 1.5 hours or to Rome in 1 hour
from Chiusi.
The Cetona Townhouse
is located in the quiet, pedestrian-only historic town center. It provides a blend
of modern amenities with medieval ambience. The main piazza, with its small shops,
cafés and trattorias, is steeply downhill from the townhouse. While cars can not
maneuver the winding, hilly streets, Doorways can arrange to have your luggage
delivered to your villa. .
The entrance to the townhouse is through a large door that opens to
a private courtyard furnished with a table and chairs for dining al fresco.
The house is built on three levels joined by a spiral staircase.

French doors open onto a large terrace,
furnished with deck chairs and a small bistro table, and the garden, with olive
trees and a small orchard where guests are welcome to collect ripe fruit. From
here, you can enjoy a fabulous view of the terracotta rooftops of Cetona,
Cittŕ della Pieve, and Chiusi. On exceptionally clear days, Lake Trasimeno is
visible in the distance.
