This elegant country house is located just 10 kilometers from the historical center of Montalcino and has been recently restored, with many modern conveniences. Set on a 15-hectare wine estate, the house is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and offers a peaceful, private setting.
The Val d’Orcia offers some of Tuscany’s most dramatic scenery. Montalcino, a classic Tuscan hill town, is topped by a fortress, offers a good selection of shops and restaurants, and is famous for its Brunello wine (as well as the less pricey Rosso di Montalcino). There an enotecca in the fortress where you can sample wines and other local delicacies. Sant' Antimo Abbey, one of the finest Romanesque churches in Tuscany, is located just outside of town. Siena, Pienza, San Gimignano, Volterra, Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia, Orvieto, Viterbo and a wealth of sites and attractions are within easy reach. Facilities for horseback riding (20 km), tennis (12 km) and golf (60 km) are available nearby. The beaches of the Maremma are 60 kilometers away. The nearest restaurant can be found in Castelnuova dell’Abate, just 2 kilometers from the villa.
An unpaved private road (about 800 meters) leads to the house from the main road. This typical Tuscan country home has been carefully restored and elegantly furnished and offers panoramic views over the Val d'Orcia. Inside are many works of contemporary art, striking an interesting balance with the classic beauty of the countryside.
