Villa della Vigna is nestled on a hillside in a wooded valley between Pisa and Siena. The estate produces some notable wines as well as extra virgin olive oil. In the center of the property an ancient abbey is a remarkable setting for weddings and celebrations. Guests will enjoy the wildflowers and birds that can be found along the footpaths and lanes of the property. Vineyards and olive groves rise on the slopes above the villa, offering views across the valley toward the tiny spa town of Cascianca Terme. A good supermarket is 5-10 minutes drive from the villa, and there are several restaurants nearby. Ponsacco and Casciana Terme have a weekly market. Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, and the many wonderful hill towns of Tuscany are in easy reach, and Florence (45 km) can be reached by rail from nearby Pontedera.

This spacious farmhouse has been carefully restored according to Tuscan tradition and furnished comfortably to emphasize the natural beauty of the setting. The main entrance leads from the garden into a spacious living room with beamed ceiling and a fireplace. A separate dining room, also with a beamed ceiling, has a large glass door leading out to the side of the house, where there is a pizza oven and BBQ. The eat-in kitchen has a marble table and is outfitted with a dishwasher. The back door leads to the pool (15x7m).

Also on the first floor is one bedroom with twin beds and its own bathroom, as well as a powder room. Five additional bedrooms are located upstairs (three with double beds; two with twins), each with its own en suite bathroom. All of the bedrooms have a lovely view and beamed ceilings. One has a fireplace and a terrace that leads down to the garden. There is also a small sitting room on the second floor, and an additional bathroom. Floors throughout the villa are terracotta.

Amenities include satellite TV, telephone, washing machine and window screens.

For large parties with additional guests, La Fornace is a separate cottage within walking distance that is divided into two apartments, each with its own entrance and sharing a pool. Taneto sleeps 4; Vignaalta sleeps 3.
