Camaiore is a lively little town in northwestern Tuscany, just minutes from the sea and half an hour from the walled medieval town of Lucca. The chic beaches of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi are 10 kilometers (6 mi.) away; the Cinqueterre, with its fabulous views, walks and boat trips, is 45 minutes up the coast. Visit the marble quarries of Carrara, where Michelangelo obtained his pure-white marble, or the charming town of Pietrasanta (10 km), present home of many sculptors. Florence is an hour and 20 minutes away, Pisa half an hour. The closest hamlet, Pieve, is 2.2 kilometers from the house and has grocery stores, a hardware store and a bar where you can enjoy a cappuccino, a pastry or sandwich, or a glass of wine.

Casa Teresa is located on a wooded hillside above Camaiore and is reached by a narrow and winding uphill road that is paved most of the way. A car is required to stay here. Special note should be taken. The road is not for the faint of heart! It is not only 1.3 miles from Pieve, but the road is very narrow in spots and there are not always guard rails. People who are not confident about driving in Italy or who have a fear of heights should select another house. But those who drive in Italy with confidence will be rewarded. The house stands alone, surrounded by natural beauty. Its air-conditioned, elegant-rustic interior combines traditional style with modern convenience making it one of the most desirable houses in the area.

Ground floor:

Amenities include high-speed ADSL internet access, iPod sound dock. All of the rooms of the house are invidually air-conditioned and there are screens on all windows and doors. A prepaid cell phone is available to use during your stay.

Every room at Casa Teresa enjoys a spectacular view of the valley and the sea beyond. In front of the house is a terraced garden, and the pool (12 x 4 meters), situated on a lower level, has a saline filtering system and is heated by solar energy.
