La Fornace is located in a wooded valley between Pisa and Siena. The estate produces some notable wines as well as extra virgin olive oil. In the center of the property an ancient abbey is a remarkable setting for weddings and celebrations. Guests will enjoy the wildflowers and birds that can be found along the footpaths and lanes of the property. Vineyards and olive groves rise on the slopes above the villa, offering views across the valley toward the tiny spa town of Cascianca Terme. A good supermarket is 5-10 minutes drive and there are several restaurants nearby. Ponsacco and Casciana Terme have a weekly market. Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, and the many wonderful hill towns of Tuscany are in easy reach, and Florence (45 km) can be reached by rail from nearby Pontedera.

The apartments at La Fornace work quite well for large parties along with the main villa on the estate, Villa della Vigna. Each apartment has a private entrance. A 6 x 12 meter swimming pool is shared.
