Lungarno Serristori apartment is located in a stately nineteenth century building just to the south of the bridge known as Ponte alle Grazie (the Ponte Vecchio's easterly neighbor). Just over the bridge one finds the Piazza Santa Croce, a lively square that is home to one of Florence's most famous churches. Art lovers in particular will thrill to be so close to Santa Croce, where two important frescos by Giotto adorn chapel walls. The church is also notable for its shrines to such illustrious figures as Machiavelli, Michelangelo, Galileo, Rossini and Dante. The Piazza Santa Croce bustles with gente-local residents passing through on the way to work or play, pausing for conversation or for a piece of fruit from one of the outdoor stands. Not far from Lungarno Serristori on the same side of the river is the remarkable Palazzo Pitti. Once a home to the Medici family, the colossal palace today houses no fewer than six museums. And just behind the palace the Boboli gardens offer a picturesque setting for a stroll. The Ponte Vecchio itself is a short riverside stroll from the apartment, and on its other side lie many of Florence's most celebrated attractions, including the Uffizi Gallery, the Piazza della Signoria and the stunning Duomo.

The view of the Ponte Vecchio from the windows of Lungarno Serristori is just one of the apartment's many favorable features. Twelve-foot ceilings grace the airy interiors, which have been decorated by a professional designer attentive to every detail. A keen sense of Florentine traditional style is evident in every room. The entrance to the apartment is reached by a ten-step walk up from the building's ground floor. An entry hall opens on one side into a spacious living/dining room overlooking the Arno; and on the other side into a fully modern kitchen with a dishwasher and a microwave. Four delightful bedrooms each sleep two: one with a canopy bed, one with bunk beds and two with twins (made up either together as doubles or separately). Of the apartment's two bathrooms, one opens onto the canopy bedroom as well as the central hallway and is equipped with a tub with showerhead. The other bathroom, convenient to the remaining three bedrooms, is equipped with a shower and a washing machine. The Lungarno Serristori apartment is fully air-conditioned and is equipped with a telephone, stereo, satellite TV, high speed Internet access, and a safe. The apartment is surprisingly quiet, given its riverside location.
