This air-conditioned ground floor/mezzanine and basement apartment is situated on via Borgo Pinti in the historical center of Florence, just a 5-10 minute walk from the Accademia and Piazza San Marco. The neighborhood, near the synagogue and the wonderful Sant' Ambrogio covered market, is just far enough from the Duomo to be away from the tourist crowd, yet close enough to all the marvelous attractions of Florence to walk. The area has shops, coffee bars, internet cafés, restaurants, and public transportation.

Donatello has a private garden space in a larger shared courtyard. The interior is an open space divided into three levels and linked by stairs. Although the rooms are not divided with doors (except for the bathrooms), the bedrooms are located in different areas, so there is some privacy for two couples. However, we prefer to recommend the apartment for a family with teenagers instead. This is partly because of the relative lack of privacy but also and also because the decor is well suited to a young adult or teenager. It is definitely not traditional Florentine! On the ground floor is a living room, kitchenette with dishwasher, dining area, a small laundry room with a clothes washer, and a bathroom with shower.

Above the living area is an open loft bedroom with a divisible queen-sized bed and a small half bath. (A second loft, accessed by a different staircase, has a single bed and is suitable for a young child. However, because the open stairs can be dangerous, we don't recommend Donatello for little children.)

An additional bedroom with a divisible queen bed is located on the lower level, along with a sitting room, a bathroom with shower, and a small gym with fitness equipment.

Donatello's small garden is located within a larger one in a large courtyard, where the owner’s house is located. Garden furniture and a gazebo provide a lovely place for dining al fresco or just relaxing after a day of exploring. Two bikes are available for guests’ use.

This property is not recommended for guests who are allergic to cats (they live outside in the courtyard, not in the apartment.)
