Located in the hills just west of Florence, Villa Bel Raccolto dates back to the 13th century. Once used as a convent, Bel Raccolto has been lovingly restored and beautifully furnished with careful attention to every detail. This luxury farmhouse is located in a small village near Carmignano, famous for two Medicean villas that are national monuments. This is a central location for touring Tuscany and Florence (23 km; 45 minutes).

Shops and a bus stop are located within a mile of Villa Bel Raccolto, and there is an excellent restaurant within walking distance that was once the home of Leonardo da Vinci's grandmother. The closest train station is in Prato (15 km). Pisa, Siena, Lucca, and Pistoia are within easy daytrip distance. An 18-hole golf course is just five minutes’ drive, and the chic beach resorts of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio can be reached in an hour.

Villa Bel Raccolto sits on top of a hill, offering views of Florence and the nearby countryside. There is a gazebo, a panoramic terrace and a covered area for al fresco dining. Lounge chairs, umbrellas surround the pool and Ping Pong table.

• Seven air conditioned bedrooms furnished with antiques and outfitted with satellite flat-screened TVs. Four are master bedrooms (king or queen beds) and three have two twin beds. One of the twin rooms is best for children, as it is smaller than the others.
• Seven modern bathrooms with showers en suite to the bedrooms. One of the bathrooms also has a tub.
• The largest master bedroom is sunken, with a ceiling two stories hig, exposed stone wall and views. Its bathroom is up one flight.
