Strategically located in the heart of Chianti, between Florence and Siena, Villa Poesia offers stunning views over the rolling hills leading to the ancient towers of San Gimignano. This 18th-century villa has been in the owner’s family for generations and all of the family weddings are celebrated here. The villa has been recently renovated, with many original features preserved and modern comforts added. Stroll through the classical Tuscan garden with hand-carved balusters and huge terracotta urns, or through the olive groves and vineyards surrounding the villa. Relax by the Mediterranean-style swimming pool. Taste the excellent Chianti wine and olive oil produced on the farm.
The closest town is Certaldo, with shops and restaurants, and there is a wonderful family-owned restaurant with Tuscany specialties within walking distance of the villa. Florence and Siena are just 20 and 15 miles away.
GRANDE TERRAZZA (Sleeps 6)
This large apartment is the entire piano nobile (elegant upper floor) of the ancient villa. It is named for its wonderful, private, panoramic terrace with splendid views over the countryside. Terrace is an ideal accommodation for three couples traveling together, or a large family.
