Casa Gioia is a wonderfully renovated farmhouse that is part of a large wine estate. Set on top of a hill and surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and woodlands, the property offers a wonderful view over the rolling hills of Chianti. Located between Siena (40 kilometers) and Florence (less than an hour’s drive), Casa Gioia is within easy daytrip distance of some of Tuscany’s most beautiful hill towns and historic cities.

The picturesque town of Greve is just 6 kilometers away. Greve is known as the "wine city" and is the main town in the Chianti Classico region as well as the birthplace of Giovanni da Verrazzano, who discovered the bay of New York. You will find supermarkets, shops and restaurants in Greve, and the charming town square is the site of a colorful open-air market on Saturday mornings. 

The property is reached by way of an unpaved winding road (3.5 kilometers from the highway). A pleasant garden with olive and fruit trees and a well-manicured lawn surrounds this typical Tuscan farmhouse, and behind the house is a delightful loggia, providing a shady spot to relax or to dine al fresco.

The house is built on several levels. On the ground floor is a large living room with original Tuscan terracotta tiled floors, oak beams, and an open fireplace made of Tuscan stone. An arch leads to a second living area, and six steps down brings you to the kitchen, with pale blue beams, an open fireplace, and seating for 8. All of these rooms have direct access to the garden. Four steps lead to the mezzanine level, where there is a beautiful dining room with an oak table that seats 10-12 people and direct access to the loggia. The master bedroom is located on this floor; it has a queen-sized bed and en suite bathroom with double sink and bathtub.

A short staircase (6 steps) made of Pietra Serena stone leads to the second floor, where the remaining three bedrooms are located. One is a double (queen bed) with en suite bathroom with shower. The second is a double (queen bed), and a charming single bedroom (perfect for a child) has an additional roll-away bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with shower. All of the bedrooms have beautiful panoramic views.

Outdoors is a swimming pool (6 x 12 meters; 2.5 meters deep, with a diving board), a changing room with shower by the pool, and an all-weather tennis court (illuminated for evening games). The covered loggia has beautiful views and serves as an outdoor living room. It leads to a jasmine-covered pergola with a table for 8. A billiard room is located in a separate gazebo in the garden.

Casa Gioia is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, telephone, TV, and window screens in the bedrooms. For safety reasons, we recommend this property for children ages 10 and up.
