One of the focal points of Rome is the Spanish Steps. Above the Steps are the Trinita dei Monte and its frescoes, the gardens and the gallery of the Villa Borghese, and the Via Veneto where you find the American Embassy, the grand hotels and the cafes renowned for people watching. Below the Steps is the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Piazza Navona with its Bernini fountains. In the heart of this area is the Via Frattina, one of the primary shopping streets in the world.

The apartment, on the second floor of a restored 17th century building (with an elevator) on via Frattina, is elegant, well furnished with antiques, and well lit. The English-speaking owner and her family lived here for many years and her affection for the apartment is reflected in the details of the decoration.

All the rooms lead off a stunning, long, main corridor with a series of arches surrounded with art deco glass. The ceilings are timbered and the floors wooden.
