The Corso apartment is perfectly located. A two minute walk brings you to the Piazza del Popolo, an ideal starting point for excursions
throughout the city after cappuccino Caffè Rosati, favorite haunt of Rome's contemporary artists and literati. The
Spanish Steps are less than 10 minutes away on foot; the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona
are less than 15 minutes. The immediate neighborhood offers wonderful restaurants, shops for books, groceries, wine, and fine clothing, including designer clothing. The street is closed to all but pedestrians on Sundays and some other festival days. Here you are in the very heart of Rome, where Romans gather.
The metro stops just on the other side of the square at Flaminia, so guests also have fast access to the Vatican in one direction or the central train station in the other. The adjacent gardens of the Villa Borghese (home to exceptional
museums and a delightful zoo) offer an oasis of green space, culminating just
above the square on a hill known as the Pincio. This is a great place for running or walking in the morning. For a splendid view of the piazza
and the city beyond, Pincio is more than worth the climb.
