La Stella del Lago is a luxury villa located above Lake Maggiore, between Stresa and Arona. The unobstructed views of Lake Maggiore are incredible, with a backdrop of snow-capped mountains and the blue lake, dotted with sailboats. Surrounded by a private park (8000 sqm), the villa is just a five-minute walk from the lakeside village of Belgirate, with shops and restaurants and you can walk to a rail station, making it possible to stay here without a car. The grounds and gardens are private and well-tended, giving you the feeling that you have stepped into a secret garden. And yet, the location is wonderfully convenient for touring the lake region of Italy as well as venturing into southern Switzerland by rail, boat or car. A sailing school, tennis court, and fitness center are located nearby.

La Stelle del Lago was recently restored to a very high level of comfort and beauty. Furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs, beautiful artwork and fine antiques, La Stella del Lago is the height of Eurpean elegance, without feeling the least bit pretentious or stuffy.

Outside is a beautiful garden for relaxing in the shade or sunning by the heated pool (9.5 x 4 meters). An enormous deck is outfitted with rattan furniture, and the villa is shaded by ancient trees.

Amenities include portable air-conditioning units and celing fans in each bedroom, satellite TV, telephone (local calls only), ADSL internet connection, stereo/CD player, and a washer and dryer.

A restored 1960's handcrafted mahogany boat comes with a captain and is available on request, according to weather and lake conditions.

The English-speaking owner lives nearby and will greet you and help you get settled. The housekeeper lives on the property and prepares a daily breakfast in addition to cleaning six days per week. Her husband tends the pool and grounds.
