Villetta Orta is a picturesque, beautifully restored
and furnished villa — with a view that few houses can rival.
Lake Orta has long been a favorite destination of artists and
writers who have been inspired by the quiet beauty of its idyllic landscape. The
azure lake, dotted with white sailboats, is set against a dramatic backdrop of
rugged, snow-capped mountains. Orta S. Giulio is a charming medieval village on
the shores of Lake Orta, with shops, restaurants, palaces, quiet lanes, and an ancient square. In the center of Lake Orta is San Giulio Island, home
to a convent of cloistered nuns and the Basilica San Giulio, renowned for its
frescoes.
Villetta Orta is built on two floors, which are not connected from the
interior of the house. The property can accommodate a fifth person, but only if
it is a child under eight years of age. (An extra bed will be added downstairs.)
Ground floor:
- Entrance hall, accessible from the rear garden (6 steps)
- Sunny pastel living room with a large, open fireplace.
- Dining area
(seats 8) with panoramic lake view and access to the garden
- Small but fully equipped kitchen
- 1 double bedroom
- 1 twin bedroom (beds are end-to-end and can not be joined)
- 1 bathroom with tub
Lower Level:
- Spacious living room with garden access
- 1 bathroom
- Kitchen
Outside
is a patio and a lovely garden with outdoor furniture for al fresco dining.
A new pool (5 x 10 m.) has been added in 2008. A manicured lawn with a view of S. Giulio Island extends from the villa to the
lake.
Behind the house,
a lively road borders Lake Orta, so light sleepers beware; there may be some
traffic noise, especially during high season.
The villa is located near a boat club, where boats are available for hire.
Villetta Orta comes with a parking spot in a parking lot in the village.
