The
value and pleasure of cultural exchange has always been at the heart of Doorways'
mission. Our internship program promotes cultural exchange within our own office.
Our staff includes natives of Italy and Bulgaria, and among us we speak six languages.

We have offered
a year-long internship to an Italian each year since 2001 and have also hosted
an intern from France for three months. If you have traveled with us, you may remember
Beatrice Fontaine, Laura Petitti, Chiara Mariani, and Martina Madella.
Our
interns come to Doorways through a wonderful program run by Council Exchanges,
which makes it possible for participants to work in the U.S. and apply for a J-1
visa through the U.S. Embassy in Italy. They gain experience in many aspects of
company operations and offer a fresh perspective that enhances our work and our
workplace.

Our current intern, Claudio Barbaresco, is a native of Torino. He returned to
Italy for the month of February to host foreign delegations of athletes during
the Winter Olympic Games. And Claudio is our resident expert on Piemonte.
Doorways is delighted to offer the next Italian internship position starting February
1, 2007. The intern must be an Italian graduate who has completed his or her education
within six month of application. If you or anyone you know is interested in applying
for this position, please contact Ellen Sinoff at ellens@doorwaysltd.com.

Doorways has funded a summer internship program to Bryn Mawr College. Both owner
Kit Burns and French Program Manager Laura Munich graduated from Bryn Mawr. We
enjoyed hosting Frances Edwards for the summer of 2006. Prospective Bryn Mawr
student summer interns, please contact Ellen Sinoff at ellens@doorwaysltd.com.
