Located 1 km from the lovable village of St-Rémy-de-Provence, this large and beautiful villa offers easy access to inviting shops, open-air markets, and fine restaurants. The property is perfect for enjoying the sun in the warmer months with its 11 x 5 meter pool, well-equipped summer kitchen, pool house with shower, covered terrace with BBQ, and outdoor dining area. All together the property is 4 acres, some of it enclosed and some of it open-country with views to the mountains (les Alpilles) beyond. A ping pong table and foozeball table add to the fun! There is private parking within the property's gate and also a garage with parking for one car.

St-Rémy, one of the most famous towns in Provence, is the ideal location to begin your explorations. The town is well known as the place where Van Gogh painted such recognizable works as Starry Night which he painted during his stay in the nearby sanitarium which is only a few minute drive from Villa Près du Lac. The town is about half way between Arles and Avignon (each about 1/2 hour away) and within easy range of Les-Baux-de-Provence, the Vaucluse, the Pont du Gard, the Mediterranean Coast, and the Carmargue. A few of the wonderful and ancient cities nearby are Aix-en-Provence, Nîmes, and Orange. The beach is 60 km (36 mi) to the south. Nearby, and in walking distance, are walking trails and a beautiful lake.

Villa Près du Lac provides beauty and the utmost of comfort with four bedroom suites, each with its own bathroom and a den which can be converted into a bedroom. There is a large vaulted ceiling in the living room which has a terra cotta floor, a huge working fireplace, leather sofas, large (satellite) TV with CNN and VCR, and a phone and fax. The dining room can seat eight to ten people and it opens onto the lovely kitchen, which is fully equipped with a modern, flat ceramic-topped electric range, electric wall oven, coffee maker, dishwasher, freezer, refrigerator, and double sink.

On the same floor are a laundry room with washer and dryer, half bathroom, and the den with sleep-sofa for two and separate sofa suitable as a bed for a child. Upstairs are the four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with heated towel racks. The master bedroom has a king bed, TV, and bathroom with Jacuzzi and WC. Next there is a spacious bedroom with large bed and a bathroom with tub with hand shower and toilet. The next bedroom has a king bed and bathroom with tub, sink and toilet. The last bedroom has a queen-sized bed and bathroom with shower, toilet and separate dressing room. This bedroom opens onto a porch with stairs down to the garden and pool. All of the bedrooms are air-conditioned.
