Le Domaine de Perceval is a beautiful estate conveniently located just five minutes from the famous antiques market at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorge (9 km) and 15 minutes from Avignon (15 km). This traditional provençal estate is an ideal retreat for lovers of nature and French culture and cuisine, and is perfect for weddings and celebrations. Aix-en-Provence, home of Cézanne, is within easy daytrip distance, as well as Arles, Lacoste, Ménerbes, Gordes, Rousillon, and La Fontaine du Vaucluse. The nearest TGV rail station is in Avignon; in less than three hours, you can be in Paris. The estate is located just three kilometers from a small medieval village with supermarket, restaurant and tourist office; a grocery store is within walking distance (1 km) of the property. Le Domaine de Perceval is made up of a number of historic buildings. Once used by monks as a woolen mill, it later became a paper mill, which remained in use until about sixty years ago. It was bought as a ruin by the current owner in 1997 and restored to a very high level of comfort and taste. The old mill is divided into apartments and bedrooms which can be rented separately or together for up to 25 guests. A small consecrated chapel dating from 1691 is available for weddings, and L'Orangerie is perfect for large gatherings and celebrations, with a commercial kitchen, a huge reception hall and a spacious, air-conditioned dining room. A stroll through the sun-drenched grounds reveals the enchanting character of the estate. Ancient plane trees shade an interior courtyard, and clear, fresh water crosses the property in various little rivers and streams, creating the feeling that you are living on a small island. A terrace with citrus and olive trees adjoins the swimming pool (14 x 7), which has an alarm for safety. Various tables and chairs for dining al fresco add to the enjoyment. Colors are restful pastels, and contemporary style is mixed with traditional elegance in a simple, refined style that makes you feel instantly at home. The apartments offer the highest standard of comfort, with many lovely details and amenities, including television, telephone, typical handmade provençal quilts (called boutis), traditional pottery and beautiful embroidered towels and linens. The charming owner lives on the property and is delighted to welcome guests as if they were her personal friends. She is a superb cook and is happy to prepare delicious, traditional Provençal meals.
