The apartment is located on Rue de Lille, just one block from the Seine River. On the fourth floor of
an 18th century building with an elevator, it is perfectly
situated on a quiet street lined with antique shops and galleries in Paris'
stylish and elegant 7th arrondissement. The apartment is just a few minutes' walk from the Musée d'Orsay and a block from the Pont Royal bridge, which crosses the Seine to the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries. The building is entered through
a cobblestoned courtyard filled with potted roses and lush greenery.
A resident gardien maintains the pristine condition
of the common areas.
Quintessential French cafés
can be found on almost every corner in the neighborhood, including the famous Les Deux Magots and Le Café de Flore as well as many outstanding but reasonably priced restaurants. All necessary conveniences are within a block of the apartment, including grocery stores, patisseries, pharmacies and banks.
This one-bedroom apartment has been recently renovated and decorated
in restful beige tones. Persian carpets cover the new pale, oakwood
floors. The walls are lined with original mouldings
in both the living and bedroom. High ceilings allow for three large windows which flood the apartment with sunlight and offer a view of the courtyard below. An antique Indonesian armoire houses a stereo/CD player
and numerous CDs. The apartment also includes a TV with English channels (CNN, Euro news, Sky, BBC), wireless internet, and free telephone to US and Canada.
The kitchen is well equipped and has a microwave, coffee maker, and espresso machine. The open bar area is a perfect spot
for a steamy café au lait and flaky croissants or an intimate
dinner for two.
The bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed with matelassé
linens, a teak chest of drawers and an antique altar coffer that
serves as a bedside table. Original artworks cover the walls.
The
tiled bathroom has also been recently redone, with a shower. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are available for guests' use, and there are numerous guidebooks, maps, restaurant suggestions and other useful information to help you enjoy your stay at Saint Germain des Prés.
