| Once the
most elegant residential district of Paris, the 7th arrondissement is home of
the Eiffel Tower and is therefore quintessentially Parisian. Many foreign embassies
are located here, just a stone's throw from the Musée d'Orsay and Musée Rodin.
Despite its many attractions, there is a feeling of peacefulness and open space
in this neighborhood of tree-lined boulevards. The closest metro station is École
Militaire.
Just five minutes' walk from the Eiffel Tower and within walking
distance of the Champs Elysees, the Champs de Mars apartment is located on the
ground floor of an upscale 19th century building. The apartment faces a tranquil
courtyard on one side and, on the other, a spacious private patio furnished with tables
and chairs for outdoor dining and relaxing. Although the building is close to
the famous Rue Cler market street, filled with butchers, bakers, fruit stores
and great restaurants, the apartment is surprisingly quiet.
The apartment has recently
been renovated but still retains its character with typical wood floors and original fireplace (non-working), balanced with the comfort of brand new modern furnishings.
The living room, which opens onto the patio, has a double sofabed that can sleep two additional guests, as
well as a dining table, stereo, and a flat-screen TV and DVD player.
The cheerful kitchen is outfitted
with a dishwasher, microwave/convection oven, four-burner stovetop, and a washer/dryer.
The master bedroom has
a queen-sized bed and a computer with high-speed Internet access. The
adjacent bathroom has a shower (with super jets!) and a heated towel rack. The second bedroom
has twin beds that can be joined on request. This bedroom has a decorative antique
fireplace and is adjacent to a second bathroom (with shower over tub).
The apartment
has some unique features: a telephone line with unlimited calls to the US and Canada, a computer
with a DSL line, air-conditioning in all the rooms, and a private patio.
Appartement Champs de Mars is a non-smoking property.
