| The 5th arrondissement, commonly known as the Latin Quarter, is located on the Left Bank of the Seine and is the intellectual center of Paris. The first great Parisian university, the Sorbonne, is located here. The area was named during the 13th century, when students and professors at the Sorbonne spoke Latin. Bookstores, jazz clubs, Roman ruins, and boutiques characterize this district, the center of what was called “bohemian Paris.”
La Bohème is located in the heart of the Latin Quarter. The Seine is a two minute walk from the apartment, as is the closest metro stop, St. Michel. Notre Dame is a six to seven minute walk. Located on a typical narrow, lively street lined with bookshops, cafés and restaurants, this spacious, comfortable studio apartment (300 square feet) has recently been renovated. The apartment is on the third floor (small steps, easy walkup) of a building that overlooks a pedestrian street and the lovely Church St. Séverin, in an area of Paris that is highly in demand. The square in front of the church offers one of the finest views of Notre Dame de Paris.
The apartment is centrally located and is close to public transportation, cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, churches, bakeries, and banks. La Bohème has a living room with beamed walls and a sofa bed. The kitchen has a stove, microwave, and washer/dryer. There is one full bathroom. A king-sized bed is located in a loft.
La Bohème is a non-smoking property. Amenities include air conditioning, high speed DSL internet access, cable TV, VCR, stereo, and telephone with free local calls.
