Location and getting there... To Tortola Fly to Tortola directly, rent cars at the airport. The Tortola airport is located on the far eastern end known as Beef Island. To St. Thomas The airport on St. Thomas is on the south swestern part of the island very close to Brewers Bay called Cyril King Intl. Airport. From there you taxi to the eastern end of the Island and get a ferry from Red Hook, St. Thomas to Tortola. To travel from St. Thomas to Steel Point on Tortola there are three options: 1. By helicopter to the private heliport at Steel Point costs $1,000 for the group. 2. Met by private car to private 30 ft. boat directly to the customs office on Tortola where Hertz can have rental cars waiting or to customs office, where the captain will process the customs for you then continue by boat directly to Steel Point dock where Hertz can have cars waiting. This option is $500. 3. Cab driver with sign will take you to local water taxi (usually the group occupies the entire water taxi, but occasionally there will be other guests) to the customs office. This is the most economical option at $300. |
