MEET OUR NEW ITALIAN INTERN

The value and pleasure of cultural exchange has always been important at Doorways. Our internship program promotes cultural exchange within our own office. Each year, an intern comes from Italy to join our team. This year, we are pleased to welcome Claudio Barbaresco, from Torino. In addition to learning many aspects of company operations, Claudio brings a fresh perspective that enhances our work and our workplace.

Q: What made you decide to apply to be an intern at Doorways?

A: I was motivated to apply for this internship because it is a special opportunity to achieve fluency in English as well as to enjoy an outstanding work experience and further develop human relationship skills.

Q: Can you tell us about your work with the Olympics?

A: It is a great honor for me to belong to the team of 20,000 volunteers who will contribute to the success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. My task will consist of welcoming the National Olympic Committee from one country and attending to their needs during the Games. So I will meet many foreign people and speak with them. Above all, I will grab the oportunity to experience the fabulous spirit that surrounds both the Olympics and Paralympics.

Q: What do you like best so far about life in the US?

A: I like the cordiality of people everywhere. Driving is more relaxed here. People observe the rules and take the time to smile and interact with one another, even in their cars, so there is a feeling of personal contact. It is a very good feeling.

Q: What do you like best so far about working at Doorways?

A: I greatly appreciate the way I have been welcomed from the beginning. I have never experienced a working environment as stimulating as the one at Doorways. Everyone is capable, helpful, and nice. I am really glad to belong to this team!

Q: Any surprises so far?

A: I was told about the really inspiring atmosphere at Doorways, but I could not have imagined all the thoughtfulness and kindness I have received here.
