You've probably seen reports in the news about the recent political demonstrations in Paris and other French cities. During my stay in Paris last week, I experienced only minor inconveniences (two delayed trains due to protest actions at TGV stations). Happily, French President Jacques Chirac has scrapped the proposed labor law reform would have made it easier for corporations to fire young employees without cause -- and which had both students and workers alike up in arms. Most important, April in Paris is as beautiful as ever! And while it was hard to tear myself away, after two gloriously sunny days in the City of Light, I headed down to the Perigord area of the region of Aquitaine.
