Located in the south of the province of Siena, on the border of Umbria, Palazzone is a wine center near the spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni. The landscape is of olive groves and wheat fields and, of course, vineyards. Palazzone is an ancient village of stone houses, with a grocery shop, baker, and butcher, as well as a post office, pharmacy, and a small restaurant.

La Pergola is a charming country house located just 2 kilometers from Palazzone. Set on a hilltop, the villa offers panoramic views of the hills of southern Tuscany and Umbria. The A-2 highway is just 5 km away, making this a convenient base for day trips. Explore destinations like Orvieto, Perugia, and Arezzo (30-60 min.). Visit the charming towns of Cittá della Pieve and Cetona, a short drive from La Pergola; or relax at the famous thermal spa of Fontaverde, just 2 km away in lovely San Casciano dei Bagni, which also boasts a lovely restaurant and one of our favorite coffee bars in Italy. Rome and Florence (2 hrs.) are also within reach.

Enter the property through an electronic gate. A garden of roses, lavender, and rosemary surrounds the villa, as well as olive and cypress trees. A large patio is equipped with BBQ and pizza oven, and a table for al fresco dining. Relax in the pool (6 m. x 12 m.) or on one of the wicker armchairs set in the shade of the pergola, offering a peaceful setting from which to enjoy the enchanting views.

This beautiful stone farmhouse has been comfortably and attractively furnished and is built on two floors. On the ground floor is a spacious, well-equipped kitchen, and a large dining room, divided by an arch from two lovely sitting rooms with fireplaces. Doors lead to the terrace from the living and dining rooms, and there is also a small bathroom on this floor.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms, each with its own bath. The master bedroom opens directly onto the outdoor staircase to the garden and has an en suite bathroom (with tub). A double bedroom and a single bedroom have en suite bathrooms (with shower). A room with two twin beds has a loft with two additional beds and a bathroom (with shower).

A separate cottage is furnished as a laundry room, and has a small bathroom. La Pergola is centrally heated for cooler months and is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, satellite TV, and stereo. Housekeeping is included six days per week, and cooking services are also available.
